Lola Badia

Lola Badia (Barcelona, 1951) is Professor of Catalan Philology at the University of Barcelona. She has published on the troubadour tradition (Poesia catalana del segle XIV. Cançoneret de Ripoll; with Alfred Badia, Poesia trobadoresca and, with Marti de Riquer, La poesia de Jordi de Sant Jordi) and the literary culture of the 14th and 15th century Catalan writers (annotated editions of Bernat Metge’s Lo somni and, with Jaume Torró, of the anonymous Curial e Güelfa). For her contribution to Ramon Llull’s vernacular oeuvre and its context, see Communicating a New Kink of Knowledge. Ramon Llull as a Vernacular Writer, with Joan Santanach and Albert Soler, as well as the editions of his Començaments de medicina and his Tractat d’astronomia. She has also directed the three volumes of a Història de la Literatura Catalana regarding the middle Ages. On occasion of her seventieth anniversary she has been given the two volumes «Qui fruit ne sap collir»: homenatge a Lola Badia.
